Back by popular demand…
This time, Paul will be hosting a talk / demo on Autumn container planting, helping you get the best out of whatever planter you have.
Are you always wondering what plants can create the perfect hanging basket at this time of year? Or maybe what plants can add colour and interest to a window box, or your pots, when most have already bloomed this spring and summer.
Whatever container, pot or hanging basket you have…feel free to bring it along and join Paul, one of the most experienced people in our team (and one of the loveliest!) to learn the hows, whats, wheres and whens of container planting for the Autumn season ahead.
Paul will go into detail about:
The different varieties, sizes and depths of containers, and how they may affect what you can plant in them.
The best plants, shrubs & bulbs for this Autumn / Winter season, and what can add colour and interest to your space/s.
Advice on the best plants for certain aspects; sun /shade/damp etc.
Advice on what plants can work with certain colour schemes and styles.
What else you’ll need to get started, in terms of composts, feeds, and maintenance.
He will also be doing…
a demo on the popular ‘Lasagne Planting’
Lasagne planting involves planting bulbs, layer upon layer, just like making lasagne. The idea is that the latest-flowering bulbs are planted at the bottom of the pot, with layers of earlier-flowering bulbs above them. The result is a container that provides wave after wave of spring flowers, giving you colour and interest right through spring.
