Hand Craft your own Berry Bowl from clay, with Bowland Pottery.
The Workshop
In this 2 hour workshop, you will mould stoneware clay over a slump to create your own beautiful bespoke Berry Bowl.
Guided by Justine Whitaker, you will then pierce your own design into the clay to form drainage holes. Choosing your choice of handles to make, you will create a bowl that is unique to you, and made by you.
You will learn many hand-building skills as you immerse yourself in turning the earth into a usable bowl, that should last a lifetime.
What next?
Your Berry Bowl will be taken to Bowland Pottery to dry and get fired in the kiln. After its first firing, your creation will then be glazed with the colour you chose in your workshop. It will then be fired again to 1220 degrees centigrade to let the magic happen.
3-4 weeks after your workshop, your finished pottery will be ready for you to collect back at Holden Clough Nurseries.
