Part of our National Garden Week free events…

Are you looking to fill a small window box? Perhaps you’ve got a focal point urn that needs to be filled with some life? Maybe you’ve tried your hand at building your own wooden planters, have a galvanised tub, or some terracotta pots at an entrance that need some interest?

Whatever container you have…join Paul, one of the most experienced people in our team (and one of the loveliest!) to learn the hows, whats, wheres and whens of container planting.

Paul will go into detail about different container types and depths, and what plants would be most suitable for, not only the planters themselves, but for your aspects too. Perhaps they’ll be in a shady spot, or will they just get touched by the morning sun…maybe they’re exposed to rays all day…Paul will give guidance and information for each.

He’ll also detail what you’ll need to get started, in terms of compost, feeds, tools and more.

The demo starts at 10 am, in our Glasshouse, and should last approximately 1.5 hours.

Please bring layers as Paul may take you on a walk around the Nursery too.

FREE for Gardening Week only. We will be running more demos throughout the year, that will be chargeable.

No booking is required but please do arrive to start at 10 am if you would like to join, so as not to disturb the demonstration/talk.

When: Wednesday 1st May 2024, 10:00 am-11:30 am (approximately)

Where: The Glasshouse, Holden Clough Nurseries

Cost: FREE - No booking required
